Wanderlust 03: Paris | 4.16.14

There are few things I love more in this world than traveling. The sights, the culture, the adventure of it all. It’s thrilling and exhausting and satisfying. But when there is neither time nor money for the biggest dreamed adventures, there’s wanderlust.

There’s no place in the world I’d rather see and no time of year I’d rather see it. I dream about it all year round, but most of all in the spring. In lieu of seeing it in person, I take inspiration from the sunlight-filtered colors of Spring and the vibrant storefront shades.

Happy Anniversary: The Honeymoon | 10.21.13

Happy Monday! Yesterday my hubs and I celebrated our one year wedding anniversary. On Friday I shared some shots from our big day. Today, a few shots from our honeymoon. We started off our trip in Las Vegas for a few days for some gambling and bright lights. We then hopped on a plane and headed to San Francisco! And let me tell you, that place is amazing! We made it a point to see the sights and splurge on some excellent dining. It was a fabulous trip made all the more better by the warm and friendly people of San Fran. We stayed on the wharf, toured Alcatraz, spent a day in Napa and ate like it was going out of style. We were basking in the afterglow of the outpouring of love and support we received at our wedding and it was a trip we’ll never forget!

Travel Files: Proof on Main | 10.2.13

Last month, I traveled to Nashville with my honey and 2 of our great friends. Along the way we stopped in Louisville and I was completely caught off guard by Proof on Main. The charm of this place creeps up on you as the details slowly reveal themselves – tufted banquettes, exposed brick, industrial elements juxtaposed off warm red light boxes & a flock of paper birds.

Once I got past all the decor, we dove into the menu. There was a list of clever concocted cocktails that did not disappoint. Between the apps and the entrees, we were stuffed to the gils and so very satisfied. The pork chops though. That entree was out-of-this-world delicious.

On your way out, head through the mini art museum attached to the restaurant. There are some beautiful and inspired pieces of contemporary art, and a fun installation for any guys using the men’s restroom 🙂

I highly recommend Proof on Main for any (and every) stop in Louisville! Have you been there? Any other Louisville spots you recommend?

It’s a Nashville Party! | 9.6.13

A few months ago, the hubs and I took a trip to Nashville with some friends. Would you believe it? We are headed back again this weekend! I’m so excited to be traveling back to this southern city! Nashville is a beautiful big little city. The food was great (I HIGHLY recommend Hattie B’s Hot Chicken), and the music scene is unforgettable. Every single bar and restaurant has a band playing. They often are playing covers (they almost all take requests) and you somehow always end up feeling like you’re watching your friend’s band. The local people were all kind and friendly. It is a destination I recommend for everyone!

Plus – cowboy boots!
